The adaptive
CS platform that runs on
your curriculum.
Teach from open textbooks, publisher titles, or your own material, in one class. Practice adapts to each student, and the grading is already done.
Free forever for open content
Every class you teach. No credit card.
Enable every student to reach mastery
A tutor gets one student there. Alps is built to get all thirty.
The average student with a personal tutor scores two standard deviations above the average student in a regular class.
The curriculum you chose
CSAwesome, Think Python and dozens of other popular titles.
Practice at each student’s level
What they’re ready for next, not the class average.
Help the moment they’re stuck
No raised hand. No waiting until tomorrow.
More than an autograder
See who needs help, and why.
One class, three groups
You don’t sort the class. Alps groups students from the work they have already done, and regroups them as the class moves.
Parsons problems and worked examples on loops.
The standard set, with hints and a stretch problem at the end.
Nifty Assignments and harder problems that use the same skill in new ways.
A quick tour
A textbook, a hint while a student works, one assignment for three groups, and code running in a browser tab.
Popular CS textbooks, with grading and practice built in
All of them run in the browser, on the Chromebooks you already have. See the whole platform.

Ready for your district
Student data is never sold and never used for advertising.
Privacy and security
FERPA and COPPA compliant, aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, with role-based access limited to the institution that owns the data. We never run cheating detection or issue academic-integrity verdicts. Read the privacy policy.
Signed data privacy agreements
We sign a data privacy agreement with the districts we work with, and we’re a member of the A4L Student Data Privacy Consortium. Two are public here; the rest live in districts’ own systems.
Fits the systems you run
Single sign-on, roster sync, and grades back to your gradebook. Or import sections and students from a Google Sheet. See the integrations.

Student data privacy agreements
We sign a data privacy agreement with the districts we work with. We’re also a member of the A4L Student Data Privacy Consortium. You can read two of the signed agreements below.
We’ve signed others too. They’re kept in districts’ own systems and aren’t posted publicly.
Need one for your district?
- Countersign our General Offer (Exhibit E) to get the same terms as the agreements above. It’s usually the fastest option.
- Or send us your district’s own DPA and we’ll review and sign it.
Either way, email privacy@2sigma.school and we’ll take it from there.
Who builds Alps
Alps is built by 2Sigma School, named for Bloom’s 2 Sigma Problem. We taught computer science ourselves, and wanted that mastery for every student in a full classroom. Our research and development has been supported by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) at the U.S. Department of Education.
Give every student a tutor’s attention.
