Student data privacy agreements
We’re a member of the A4L Student Data Privacy Consortium. We sign data privacy agreements with the districts we work with. You can read two of them below.
We’ve signed others too. Those are kept in districts’ own systems and aren’t public.
Need one for your district?

Compliance and security
FERPA and COPPA
We comply with both. We never sell or broker student data, and we never use it for advertising. Our privacy policy lists what we do and don’t do with student work.
Security framework
Aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, with role-based access controls. Access is limited to the institution that owns it.
Responsible use of language models
We name every place a language model is used. We don’t train on identifiable student work, run AI detection, or issue academic-integrity verdicts.
Data stays yours
Student records belong to the institution. Material a teacher brings stays theirs.
No ad or marketing tracking for students
Where students sign in and work, Alps runs no ad networks, tag managers, marketing tags, or session recording. It does run a product-analytics service and an error-reporting service. Our privacy policy names both and says what each receives.
