Built to act on

Most gradebooks keep the record. This one tells you what to do next.

A list of scores leaves the reading to you. The Alps Gradebook reads the class for you, and every finding comes with the click that acts on it.

The grid

Every cell tells you its state

A graded cell is just its score. Everything else carries its own mark: submitted on time or late, waiting for you, in progress, not started, missing. Hover any cell to read how it was graded, when it came in and how long it took, and click it to open the student’s work.

  • ✓ Shade cells by score band or by time, and the class reads in a second
  • ✓ Show scores as points or percents
  • ✓ Filter by unit, coursework type or due date, or show only missing work
  • ✓ Hide names before you share your screen
  • ✓ Copy a link that opens the same view
The Gradebook grid for eight students and six coursework, shaded by score band, with cells marked Missing, In progress and To grade, hatched cells for practice nobody assigned, an AI tag on one cell, and a class average row.

Check in

Slipping: the last 3 scores average 10 or more points below the earlier ones. Stuck: far more time than the class, and under 65% overall.

Under the grid, every coursework shows its median, its lowest and highest score, and how many are missing. Each heading draws the spread of scores: click a bar to pick out that band of students.

One student's panel: Turing, Alan, marked Slipping, with Overall 69 percent, Rank 6th of 8, Missing, To grade, Late and Time spent against the class median, Mastery by unit with a link to Student Breakdown, scores over time against the class median, and a list of all coursework.

Ready for the parent conference

Click a name and one student’s story opens over the grid. Press the arrow keys to move to the next student, and copy a link to share exactly this view.

  • ✓ Overall, rank, missing, late and work to grade
  • ✓ Time spent, against the class median
  • ✓ Scores over time, against the class median

  • ✓ Mastery by unit, from Beginning to Mastered, with a link to the Student Breakdown

Count the practice they did on their own

Practice a student worked on without being assigned it shows as a hatched cell. Assign it to that student, or the whole class, right from the grid, and it is graded and counts in the total like everything else. With Google Classroom, the assignment appears there too.

Grades reach your LMS when you are ready

Sync to LMS sends the grades, and updates any already sent. A grade waiting for your review is held back: your LMS gets the turn-in, and the grade follows once you have reviewed it. See the integrations.
